Don't Mess With Texas

The risk of climate change is clear, and the risk warrants action. Increasing carbon emissions in the atmosphere are having a warming effect. There is broad scientific and policy consensus that action must be taken to further quantify and assess the risks.

Don’t believe me on this. Believe ExxonMobil. The text above comes right from their website.

If even Exxon thinks global warming is happening, why is Gov. Abbott still a climate change denier?

Frankly, Exxon doesn’t exactly have a track record of leadership on this issue. But, if even Exxon thinks global warming is happening, why is Gov. Abbott still a climate change denier?

Let’s bring common sense and business strategy to managing our environment, not ignorance.

As governor:

  1. I’ll aggressively enforce existing pollution laws. Don’t mess with Texas. Ever.
  2. I’ll support Texas’ leadership in drilling technology. If we can drill more efficiently, that’s fewer drilling sites producing the same oil.
  3. I’ll grow the production and consumption of clean-burning and alternative energy sources, such as wind, solar, CNG, LNG and electric-powered vehicles. (Disclosure: If elected, I’ll sell the minority interest I own in a CNG business.)

I want my family to breathe fresh air that doesn’t smell or harm people. I want them to enjoy Texas' natural beauty for generations to come. Texas should be the energy capital of the world for all types of energy sources. We’re the state that led putting a man on the moon. We made that giant leap because of leaders who believed in math, data and science.
